What a SERP checker does and why you need one
SERP stands for search engine results page. A Google SERP checker is sometimes called a SERP analysis tool or a keyword position checker. It fetches that page from a server in the location you choose, on the device you choose, with no history attached. You see the ten organic results, the ads, and the features, such as the local pack, People Also Ask, featured snippets, and AI Overviews, exactly as a stranger in that city would.
That solves three everyday problems. A client says "I searched and we are not there", and you can show the real page for their city. You want to know who ranks for a keyword before you write a page. WhatsMySERP is a simple free checker that finds where a specific domain ranks for a keyword in a chosen location. Type the domain and the keyword and it tells you the position. Free use is limited per day and there is a paid tracker behind it. Useful for a quick "where are we" answer.
6. Google itself with URL parameters
Open an incognito window and search with "&gl=us&hl=en&pws=0" added to the Google URL to set country and language and turn off personalisation. It is free and needs no tool. 7. Google Search Console
Search Console is not a SERP checker, but it is the source of truth for average positions on your own site. Use it to confirm a checker's result over time. Filter by country and device to narrow the average. It shows nothing about competitors or SERP features.
