Key takeaways
- Semrush pricing in 2026 has four main plans: SEO at $139, Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299, and Advanced at $549 a month. Annual billing takes about 17 percent off.
- Every plan includes one user. Extra users cost from $45 a month each, which doubles the bill for a three person team.
- Add-ons like extra reports, Local, and the AI toolkit are priced separately. Budget for them before you compare Semrush with anything else.
- The free account gives 10 requests a day and 10 tracked keywords. The 7 day free trial covers the paid plans.
- Semrush is worth it for teams that use its breadth. For rank tracking alone, it is one of the most expensive options per keyword.
Semrush pricing changed again in 2026, with new plan names and AI search tracking bundled into the middle tiers. If you last looked at the price page a year ago, the numbers and the names are different. This guide lists every plan, what it includes, where the extra costs hide, and how to decide whether Semrush is worth it for your work. All prices were taken from the Semrush pricing page on September 16, 2026, in US dollars.
We build Zutrix, a rank tracking and SEO platform that costs a fraction of Semrush. We are a competitor, and we say so. This guide is written to be accurate about Semrush first. Our own pricing appears in one marked section near the end. For direct comparisons, see Semrush vs Ahrefs and Semrush alternatives.

The SEO plan is the classic Semrush subscription: keyword research, site audit, backlinks, position tracking, and the rest of the SEO toolkit. Starter is the SEO plan plus AI search tracking with 50 prompts and 300 AI reports a day. Pro+ and Advanced raise every limit and add more prompts. Enterprise is a custom contract with unlimited projects and an account manager.

What each Semrush plan includes
SEO plan, $139 a month
One user, 5 projects, 500 keywords tracked daily, 3,000 reports a day in the research tools, and a site audit of 100,000 pages a month. This is enough for a freelancer or a small in-house team. It is not enough for an agency with more than five clients, because each client needs a project.
Starter, $199 a month
Everything in SEO plus the AI toolkit: 50 tracked prompts across AI assistants and 300 AI reports a day. Same 5 websites and 500 keywords. This is the plan Semrush pushes to new customers, and the $60 gap is the cost of AI tracking. Compare that with tools that include AI visibility before paying it. Our best AI visibility tools guide lists them.
Pro+, $299 a month
Fifteen websites, 1,500 tracked keywords, 100 AI prompts, more historical data, and Google Data Studio integration. This is the smallest plan that fits a working agency. Still one user.
Advanced, $549 a month
Forty websites, 5,000 tracked keywords, 200 AI prompts, API access, and white label PDF reports. This is where most mid-size agencies land, and the plan where the extra user fees start to add up.
Extra users and add-ons
Every plan includes one user. Additional users start at $45 a month each. A three person team on the SEO plan pays $139 plus $90, which is $229 a month. On Advanced it is $549 plus $90, or $639. Semrush also sells add-ons: Base Report at $10 a month, Pro Report at $20, Lead Generation at $90, plus Local, Trends, and the Content Toolkit as separate subscriptions.
| Add-on | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Additional user | From $45 a month | One more login on your plan |
| Base Report | $10 a month | More scheduled PDF reports |
| Pro Report | $20 a month | Branded reports and more scheduling |
| Lead Generation | $90 a month | Embeddable audit widget for your site |
| Local | Separate subscription | Listings, reviews, map tracking |
| Content Toolkit | Separate subscription | SEO Writing Assistant and AI drafting |
Semrush free account and free trial
The Semrush free account never expires. It gives 10 requests a day across the research tools, one project with a site audit of 100 pages, and 10 tracked keywords. It is enough to check a keyword or a competitor once in a while, not to work daily. The Semrush free trial gives 7 days on a paid plan and needs a card. Cancel before day seven to avoid the charge.
- Free account: 10 requests a day, 10 tracked keywords, 100 page audit, one project.
- Free trial: 7 days on SEO or Starter, card required, cancel any time.
- Refunds: 7 day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions in most regions.
Is Semrush worth it?
For a marketing team that uses keyword research, PPC research, content tools, and reporting every week, yes. Semrush replaces three or four subscriptions and its data is among the best. For a team that mostly tracks rankings and runs a monthly audit, no. You pay $139 for 500 keywords, which is 28 cents per keyword per month, when dedicated trackers charge under 10 cents.
- You open Keyword Magic Tool or Organic Research most days.
- You run paid search or social from the same seat.
- You need more than five projects and can afford Pro+.
- Your clients expect Semrush-branded reports.
- You have one or two users, not five.
If you ticked three or more, Semrush is a fair buy. If you ticked one, look at the alternatives. Our guide to cheap SEO tools covers the budget end.
How to pay less for Semrush
- 1
Pay annually
Annual billing saves about 17 percent. On the SEO plan that is $260 a year.
- 2
Share one seat where you can
Semrush's terms allow one login per user, but a small team can often work with one seat and a shared report schedule.
- 3
Skip Starter if you track AI elsewhere
The $60 jump buys 50 AI prompts. Several tools include AI tracking in cheaper plans.
- 4
Use the free account for occasional checks
Ten requests a day covers a lot of one-off lookups.
- 5
Move rank tracking to a dedicated tool
Then buy the smallest Semrush plan for research only.
- +Count seats and add-ons before comparing totals.
- +Use the 7 day trial on your real projects.
- +Export data before downgrading, since limits shrink.
- xBuy Advanced for the white label reports alone.
- xAssume the free account replaces a paid plan for daily work.
- xForget to cancel the trial before day seven.
